About ROAR of Washington

Our Mission

Since 1990, R.O.A.R. of Washington as provided referrals, opportunities, advocacy, and resources to homeless, impoverished, and Òworking poor" people in and around Seattle.  Our mission is to prevent homelessness, and mitigate its effects on the people we serve.

What makes us different

Many fine agencies and programs in greater Seattle serve specific segments of the population Òin need.Ó  ROAR works directly with Òall comers,Ó helping them to take advantage of support the community has to offer, and deploying its own resources to fill gaps in the system when possible.  We canÕt solve every problem, but weÕll work respectfully and persistently with our clients, to get the best support weÕre able to get, even if it means trying multiple referrals and programs over an extended time.

The difference we make

Our programs and projects seek to keep people in their own homes when possible, by offering assistance with rent during short term financial crises, assisting with landlord negotiations, and helping those people we serve connect with other sources of housing assistance in the community.

For those who are homeless, we offer referrals to shelter and transitional housing programs.  We also provide internet access, and assistance with Metro bus transportation to help find paid work.

Email us, call  or drop in during our business hours.

If you are seeking assistance, the best way is to call during our open hours, and set up an appointment, so that we may sit together and determine the best way to serve your needs.

If you would like to volunteer, provide small-size materials or resources useful to our clients (subject to our assistance resource policies), or financial support, please email or call.  We are always able to turn your support into a better chance at a stable, productive life for the people we serve.  The more support we receive, the more lives we can touch.
